Find your starting point

A good fit when you already know Miro and want to test how a compatible AI client interprets and represents a process from a board.

Another option to consider

Visual collaboration for remote teams with MiroIf you need to prepare and facilitate boards without AI connections, choose remote visual collaboration.
Hours and sessions
6 hours live · 3 sessions of 2 h.
Group size
Up to 12 participants per trainer as a reference, adjusted to the practice and feedback.

What you will learn

  1. 01

Connect a compatible client to Miro MCP using authorised access.

  2. 02

Request a board summary and check it against the original content.

  3. 03

Prepare a process representation and review its steps and exceptions.

A proposed programme

You will connect a practice board to Claude Desktop through Miro MCP. Starting with notes about reviewing internal documentation, you will request a summary and prepare a diagram: every step, decision and exception must be checked against its source.

We adapt the selection and depth of the modules to the group's starting point and goals.

01

Connect with permissions

What MCP is, authentication and the scope of team and board access.

You will work on

  • Distinguish the AI client, MCP server and board you want to access.
  • Connect the practice team through OAuth and check access to the board identified by its URL.
  • Review which actions read or change content and when additional authorisation or permission is needed.
Practice
Open the authorised classroom board from Claude and check what can be read and edited without extending access to real teams.
How you will check it
A connection to the correct team and an access check; the participant distinguishes connector authorisation from board permissions.
02

Query and structure information

Search and summarise board content using instructions with relevant context.

You will work on

  • Request a summary limited to the specified board, separating steps, owners, decisions and open questions.
  • Relate each claim in the summary to the source notes and flag unsupported statements.
  • Refine the request to preserve exceptions and mark information that is still missing.
Practice
Check a summary that omits incomplete requests and attributes an approval that does not appear in the notes.
How you will check it
A corrected summary that retains the exception without inventing owners, decisions or deadlines.
03

Review visual documentation

Prepare diagrams and check steps, decisions and unresolved questions.

You will work on

  • Prepare a representation with steps and a decision separating complete and incomplete requests.
  • Review the destination and requested change before creating the diagram on the practice board.
  • Read the result in Miro, walk through both paths and add a note about the remaining questions.
Practice
Create and review the case diagram, correcting the return to the requester when context is missing.
How you will check it
A diagram checked against the source, with a readable exception branch and an unresolved decision that is still not presented as approved.

A diagram that respects what the notes say

Teaching example

You will connect an authorised environment, query a sample board and prepare process documentation, checking it against the source information.

Fictional classroom case. A team wants to document how it reviews changes to internal documentation. The board says incomplete requests return to the requester; complete requests go to Ana for review. It does not specify a response time or who gives final approval for publication.

Starting point
Notes are scattered across the board, making the incomplete-request exception difficult to follow. The team needs a representation that keeps these open questions visible.
First attempt
The first AI draft sends all requests straight to Ana and ends with “Approval within 24 hours”. It omits the context check and introduces a deadline and approval absent from the source.
What we review
The trainer asks the group to identify the note supporting each step. They restore the initial check, add the return to the requester and replace the assumed approval with a decision that still needs confirmation.
Result
The diagram distinguishes complete and incomplete requests and places Ana’s review only on the appropriate path. Approval and timing remain open questions before a revised version is created on the classroom board.

Reviewing internal documentation

Input

  • Change request

    Check its purpose and context.

  • Is it complete?

    The source describes two paths.

Context is missing

  • Return to the requester

    Ask for the missing information.

  • Check again

It does not reach review yet.

Request is complete

  • Ana’s review

    Check the proposed change.

  • Approval unresolved

The source does not specify who or when.

Teaching illustration of a fictional case; it does not reproduce Miro’s interface. The summary and diagram are checked against the source before acceptance.

Before calling it complete

  • Diagram steps can be related to the original notes.
  • Incomplete requests return to the requester before reaching review.
  • There is no invented deadline or approval; the change is reviewed on the correct board.

Sessions to put it into practice.

Reference edition · 6 h live

Reference edition: 6 live hours across 3 sessions of 2 hours. Connection, summarisation and diagram review take place during the sessions. We check beforehand that the environment supports the case; any additional preparation is agreed with the group.

  1. Session 12 h

Connect and define the access boundary

Distinguish MCP from its client, check accounts and connect the practice team with the agreed permissions.

    By the end

An accessible classroom board and a simple record of the actions available.

  2. Session 22 h

    Query and check the content

Request a summary of the notes, locate its sources and correct omissions or unsupported statements.

    By the end

A summary retaining known owners, exceptions and unanswered questions.

  3. Session 32 h

Draw, walk through and correct the process

Prepare the diagram, review the change before writing it and check both paths in Miro with the trainer’s feedback.

    By the end

A reviewed process representation and a note of what still needs confirmation.

If your team needs to go further

  • Connecting real enterprise teams, designing their access policy or implementing a documentation system requires a separate scope.
  • Developing a custom MCP server or automating publication without human review is outside this edition.

Before we begin

A Miro account, practice board and compatible AI client. We will check permissions, MCP access and available features before the training.

Reference environment: Claude Desktop with the Miro connector and a practice Miro team containing fictional data. Before the edition, we check accounts, the client plan, the OAuth connection and board editing permission. Miro Enterprise may require admin enablement and approval. Authorising a team does not limit access to a single URL; we use an isolated environment and check the available tools before making changes.
